Brooke Shields in a white J. Mendel dress does nothing for Brooke. Unfortunately it looks more like a bath towel than a gown. Tried but came off rather boring.

  Tony nominee for 'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown' and two time winner in Dolce & Gabbana. No word will be said against the broadway diva of all divas.

'Chicago' star Christie Brinkley wore a cobalt blue silk strapless Zuhair Murad gown with a crystal beaded corset insert and bow bodice. Unfortunately she looks like she just entered the stage at beauty pageant for Miss Tackyville, USA. Something about the pose, the hair and overdose jewels takes it over the top.

Ellen Barkin, a winner for 'Normal Heart' looked fabulous for any age in a long-sleeved black lace gown by L'wren Scott with a chantilly lace overlay.

 Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev is really, really good at wearing dresses! In this drop-dead gorgeous in Donna Karan gown and just might be my favorite lady in red of the night. But everything is just perfect—the understated jewelry, the fit, her body!

She's a presenter at the Emmys, so Katie Holmes is going for that "totally not trying too hard," effortless glam look in this blue Calvin Klein gown. But the belt isn't really working here, the top half doesn't fit well and her messy bun could be the worst hair of the night.

We can usually count on Julianna Margulies to wear something classically beautiful and look great but not necessarily noteworthy. But tonight, she was like, "No way! I am finally going to win my Outstanding Lead Actress Emmy and I am going to wear something crazy for my big moment." Hence, the out-of-this-world Armani Privé gown that may have worked for Anne Hathaway and Lady Gaga before, but just seems to wash outThe Good Wife actress when she should be glowing. 

Holy cleavage alert! Mad Men star, Christina Hendricks and her twins on the red carpet they are out of control again. That's too bad, because her custom Johanna Johnson gown has some amazing beadwork, plus she's rocking Mad pretty hair and makeup. But who's noticing when the girls are so in your face?

Unfortunately, it was with coral Christian Siriano foraged from the sea. While this look is interesting and different, and we like that Heidi is still supporting her Project Runway winners, there's just something that makes us long for the days when the supermodel oozed sophistication on the red carpet.

Whoa, what happened to Glee's adorable Dianna Agron?! This draped, electric-blue Roksanda Ilincic gown and matronly hairdo is adding years to the sweet young starlet, and the wrinkled skirt is a bummer, too. And judging by the look on her face, Dianna doesn't seem to be thrilled about it, either.

Awww, we are crushing on pretty-in-pink Jayma Mays. Her Zuhair Murad gown is one of those love-it-or-hate-it dresses, but we're totes hearting the delicate lace top, frothy skirt and pop of hot-pink lip. On a night where so many stars are sticking to body-hugging gowns, her Good Witch of the West tiered dress definitely stands out. It's a sweet dress for a sweet lady!

This is how you do effortless glam right! Kate Winslet looks smashing in a va-va-voom red Elie Saab gown flaunting some pretty, tasteful cleavage. With her blinging bracelet, drop earrings and glamorous wavy updo, this English rose is is a blooming beauty.
