Oscars 2011

From the glamorous gowns to the jaw-dropping jewels and the perfect coifs, see every detail from the best looks of Hollywood's biggest night.

'The Fighter's' Amy Adams in a glittering purple L'Wren Scott cap-sleeved gown and $1,350,000 of Cartier diamond jewelry, including a bracelet and necklace, each containing more than 30 carats of emeralds. The rich shade of deep purple provides the ultimate contrast from the red carpet, and accentuates her envious shape.

Academy Award winning actress, shows off her fab shoulders in a strapless silver sequined Gucci Première gown with ombré feathered train, metallic Roger Vivier clutch and Anna Hu jewelry – including diamond brooches in her sleek updo.

Sandra bullock is striking in a strapless scarlet Vera Wang gown, crimson clutch and Harry Winston earrings and bangle. This bold and structured gown marked a departure from the more 'fairytale' styles that Bullock has favoured of late. One of the best dressed of the night.

Best actress nominee for 'The King's Speech' Helena Bonham Carter donned a surprisingly low-key black by costume designer Colleen Atwood dress with a velvet corset. She wanted to celebrate 'film rather than fashion'.

Best Actress nominee for 'Blue Valentine' Michelle Williams continues to draw comparisons to Audrey Hepburn in her sleek, semi-sheer white Chanel gown. Would hope for more color, always the chance to be washed out.

The Oscar host Anne Hathaway- pairs an elegant low bun with a strapless red vintage Valentino Haute Couture dress makes an appropriately dramatic accent in a vintage taffeta gown with floral appliqué train, sparkling collar necklace and a scarlet lip.

Mandy Moore looked like a real-life Disney princess as she made her way down the carpet in this stunning Monique Lhuiller gown. While the nude color of this dress had the potential to wash out the fair-skinned singer, she balanced it out with coral lipstick and gorgeous auburn locks.

.
Best actress nominee Natalie Portman shows off her growing baby bump in a gorgeous off-the-shoulder burgandy dress by Black Swan designer Rodarte and jewels from Tiffany. Many didn't like the matchy-matchy accessories, but they do compliment wonderfully.

Nominated for Best Actress for 'Rabbit Hole', Nicole Kidman in a voluminous, origami-pleat couture gown provides a refreshing compromise from the slinky, column gowns she always gravitates towards. People have been divided over this look, Nicole needs to work the look better.

Four-time nominee Annette Bening, 'The Kids Are Alright' dazzled in her embellished gunmetal Naeem Khan gown. The art deco stlyling is different for the star.

Always a fashion plate and never afraid to make a statement, Cate Blanchette walks the carpet in an elaborately beaded and pleated lilac Givenchy Haute Couture gown with surprising yellow beaded accents and chic, fresh bob.

Singer Jennifer Hudson flaunts her knockout figure in a bold, low-cut tangerine Versace gown. The striking halter gown with a dramatic train, purple shoes, sparkling deco drop earrings and glittering bangles.

Just weeks after having her son, Penelope Cruz supports Best Actor nominee husband Javier Bardem in a dramatic, plunging L'Wren Scott red gown with sequined flame accents, Jimmy Choo platforms, and Chopard jewels.

The 'Black Swan' star wore a gorgeous lavender chiffon gown with tiered lace detailing and groisgrain ribbon waist from Elie Saab Haute Couture, which she pairs with a blush clutch and sparkling earrings. A very unexpectedly romantic piece.

Best Supporting Actress nominee, Haylee Steinfield gushes of her custom-made Marchesa tea-length princess gown with crystal embroidery, which she wears with an elaborate updo and headband. Hailee looks adorable and age appropriate like she has all awards season.

Jennifer Lawrence effortlessly proves that less can indeed be more in this fuss-free red Calvin Klein gown. Armed with a toned physique and a mane of artfully bouncy hair, it's back to basics for the 'Winter's Bone' star.

Former Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow reinvented the ubiquitous sparkle and shine in a a liquid Calvin Klein metallic column gown.

Scarlett Johansson had a different look than her traditional glamazon.  Not feeling the starlet's raspberry Dolce & Gabbana lace gown with Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie bling. It's matronly and a bit boring. At least the messy bob and her makeup are spot-on.

Wearing the same silouette as her silver gown from the SAG Awards, Melissa Leo falls flat in this crocheted Mark Bouwer dress, you look like a Victorian disco ball. May look better in person but not for the camera. A new silhoutte is very much needed.

Look up Hollywood glamour in the dictionary and you'll probably find Halle Berry. In a figure-hugging Marchesa gown with sparkly overlay, delicate bodice and dramatic tulle train—plus gorgeous makeup and hair—the A-list actress shows everyone how it's done right. Textbook red carpet fabulousness doesn't get any better than this.

The 'Water for Elephants' actress, Reese Witherspoon wore a black and white Giorgio Armani Privé evening gown. The Oscar winner goes '60 chic in this strapless dress features a white silk band at the neckline and a subtle train. She pulled off a bit of Bridget Bardot nicely.

Though she just had twins, Celine Dion looks sleek in an ivory long-sleeved gown with an eye-catching pendant necklace and '40s-siren waves. Ms. Dion does classy very well.
